Mastering Life Balance: The EPIC Way

We are often told, “Go an extra mile, possibilities are endless, the sky’s the limit, and anything in life is possible.” However, these phrases look better as a mere concept to most of us. What if someone made us believe we can DREAM, do anything, and think like there is no box to limit our thinking?

We all love the quote, “Love what you do, and do what you love.” However, the reality is even if we are doing something that we love, at some point in life, it starts to take a toll on us. We might be obsessed with painting, but after a while, even M F Hussain needs to take a break from doing what he is famous for.

Let’s break things down and deep dive into a holistic view of healthy living practice. There is a lovely saying in Sanskrit, “Sampoorna Samropana Pravapna.” Sampoorna means complete, Samropana means sowing equally and uniformly, and Pravapna is to germinate. We have to sow the field of our life uniformly and equally to germinate the seeds successfully, then only we can get a healthy crop. It is equally applicable in our lives, if we want to live an exceptionally amazing life, we have to balance all the facets of life and become lifepreneurs (life entrepreneurs).

The facets of life comprise:

(E) – Emotional
(P) – Physical
( I ) – Intellectual
(C) – Career

1. Emotional

Our emotional well-being is crucial. We need to be in touch with our emotional selves all of the time as creative people, not only because we’re human, but because that’s where our creativity lies! We may be the most upbeat people in our groups, however, it does not mean that we have to neglect our emotional well-being. In fact, as creative, it’s critical to maintain our emotional well-being all the time. These feelings inspire us to do what we love to do, whether we are angry, upset, positive, ashamed, in love, or hurt. These feelings will determine whether or not our work of art is catchy and of good quality.

How To Implement

If you break the word emotion, it is the energy in motion. If you allow yourself to step out of your ego and look at your every emotion without bias, then you can create a canvas of your creativity and love by channeling your emotions. That’s how every work of art carries a little of your soul in it.

2. Physical

Our physical health is directly proportional to our mental health. There is always an opportunity for our physical health, no matter what the season of the year. The more we focus on our health, the more productive we are in the race of life. It is never too late to connect with our organs and appreciate them for their functioning to keep us walking this planet.

How To Implement

It is totally up to you to keep up the pace, whether it is a run or a walk outside, a Zumba session online, or hiring a fitness instructor. It helps you stay in good shape, strengthens your breathing, and keeps the endorphins flowing to stay creative.

3. Intellectual

It’s the part of us that can think strategically – to make wise investments, to clear our brains so that our creative selves can shine, and to avoid drowning in stress, overpowering sentiments, despair, or any other unpleasant emotions that can hinder our productivity. Learning is the primary habit of every successful person. As Stephen Covey quotes it, “Sharpen your saw.” We are wilting if we are not growing. Learning helps us to evolve and grow in life.

How To Implement

Make a goal of learning something new from time to time and set a reward for completing it successfully. It will help you stay in the game and will enhance your awareness. It will directly boost your productivity.

4. Career

The most crucial decision that impacts our entire well-being is the career path we choose. If we choose a career with high stress levels, then we should be capable of coping with it. Otherwise, it will heighten the risk of work-related depression. It could also be possible when we wake up to do something that we do not like. It is of utmost importance to go for a career path that brings out the best of our interests.

How To Implement

If you are still on the lookout for where your passion lies, then the best way to choose a career of choice is to try out new things. Ask yourself a question like, If you are passionate about something, will you be able to monetize it? Always keep a reality check, keep asking yourself honest questions, if you are good at something, check if you need any training to enhance your skill. Your career is your baby, so it’s up to you how you take care of it and find value in your role.

We usually imagine the best version of our plans, however, we forget or fail to implement them in real life. We tie the best version of our lives to the clouds, and those clouds vanish into thin air. If we want the life of our dreams, then we have to anchor our goals to a specific deadline, otherwise, either the clouds will vanish, or they will migrate to some other place.

We don’t have to play according to the narrative, instead, we have the power to write our narrative. A well-known motivational speaker, Billy Alsbrooks says, “Set yourself on fire, and the world will come to see you burn.” The only way to start our journey towards living an exceptionally amazing life is to outshine our expectations, break our records, and live our truth, and this world will join us in celebrating the edifice of life we build, on our terms.

A happy life is about finding balance in the facets of life. These are the four wheels of our life’s vehicle. If any one of them is missing, then our life will miss out on its actual essence, its elixir. These facets of life will help us to make a way through our limitations and focus on a fruitful and healthier life-preneurship.
