How to Invent Our Best Versions?

“The journey of the life we want starts with planting seeds within the journal’s blank pages. The idea is to be persistent and consistent with writing to see them bloom.”

“A life worth living is a life worth recording,” says an American motivational speaker, entrepreneur, and author, Jim Rohn. If we ask any successful person, they have a habit of keeping a journal, and for different reasons. A journal, apart from recording our thoughts, allows us to analyze where we are, where we are headed, and from where we are coming. It is a powerful tool to write in a journal to cultivate everything we want in our lives from our lives.

There were two friends, Rohit and Arjun, who were doing well in their lives. Once they planned to meet, they were happy to see each other after so long. Arjun was free, but Rohit had to rush back to the office, and out of angst, Rohit started sharing his struggle to make the ends meet, and how he did not have any idea where his life was going. They both were earning almost the same, however, the state of mind was the opposite. Out of curiosity, Rohit asked Arjun about how he managed everything without having any panic attacks.

Arjun smiled and replied, I was going through the same situations in life, the only difference is that I rebelled against those situations and found a way out. Whenever I felt that I was losing the anchor, I started writing. Whenever there was a setback, I wrote it down, and it helped me find clarity. Writing made the chaos in my head vanish, and it became a habit. When I started pouring my feelings on the paper, things started making sense to me, and they started happening. So, I started writing everything, every ebb and flow, the things I wanted in life, the way I wanted to be, and it all started coming to life.

Then I dug a little deeper and found the best ways to start writing with a clean slate. Here are a few steps to be more precise about writing the right way.

Have a Clear Vision of the Goals

We hold the helm of our dreams, and there are infinite possibilities of dreaming. It can be a new career path, a healthy relationship, or choosing happiness over everything. We have to know it to own it. The clearer and more concise we are with the things we want, the better it will look in reality. Instead of just writing, “I want a stable job,” create a developed picture of what that job would be like (characteristics, quality, and value it adds to our lives.)

Take Notes in Mind, then Write

We have to ask the universe what we want once we have determined our aspirations, dreams, and goals. We can do it in many ways, including prayer, meditation, visualization, saying your intentions out, creating a vision board, or creating a future box which is a container filled with photographs of goods you wish to manifest.

It’s Time to Work Towards the Goals

As it is a collaboration between us and the universe, it is the process of co-creation. So knowing what we want is only half the battle—without action, we won’t see any results. Set aside some time to consider what measures we can take to achieve the goals, and then include them into our daily routine. Start networking with people in the new field and prepare for a job interview, for example, if we wish to make a major career move.

“Another method to be in action is to think about what our future self would be thinking.” Reframing our thoughts may (and will) help us succeed. “Being the person who already has, is doing, and feels our objectives, dreams, and desires assists us in becoming that person.”

Be Mindful and Grateful

The things we want in life might get delayed, however, they will come our way eventually. Gratitude makes everything better, no matter how big or small things we achieve, being thankful for them increases their value in our lives.

Consider maintaining a gratitude journal, spending five to ten minutes before calling it a night. Write down a few things you’re grateful for, or anything that happened that day to help you get closer to whatever you’re attempting to achieve. Perhaps you want to save enough money for retirement and get a call from your cable provider about lowering your monthly cost, or while listening to a podcast sparks a money-making side hustle idea.

Letting Go is the Key

Our thought processes and our beliefs play an important role in the way we live our lives. If it’s not working anymore, it’s time to consider making a mental shift, track down the obstacles or the limiting beliefs clouding our vision and take us down the negative self-talk road. We have to get rid of everything that hinders our growth, keeping us from exploring our true selves. As, at the end of the day, our thoughts shape our point of view in the walk of our lives.

We can begin by questioning ourselves about anything that is affecting our progress. We all have our own limiting beliefs, and until we do not escape from this trap, we cannot excel in life. We need to jot down our limiting beliefs and transform them with positive affirmations. Pick one emotion or feeling at a time and replace the negative ones with positive ones. This little practice will become new milestones in our progressive journey.

Keep a Check on the Energy

Remember, we get the energy back we put out in the world. We will attract the same energy we send out in the form of our feelings and thoughts. Fortunately, keeping a check on our energy is a simple process: Focusing on activities that bring us joy and happiness, whether it’s doing something nice for someone else (assisting a friend or family member, donating to a good cause, volunteering), beginning each day with a meditation or a quick yoga class, spending time in nature, or treating ourselves to some well-deserved self-care.

We even have the power to concentrate on the way we want to feel. If we seek kindness from others, then we have to show compassion and empathy to others first. If we want love in our lives, then we have to open our arms to be more loving in the first place.

Trust the Process

Having faith in our actions, vision, and clarity is a powerful motivator and guiding force. The process molds itself the way we mold our beliefs. If we want to reach the greatest of heights, then we have to start the journey by dialing within. Once we get to know ourselves better, nothing will stand between our imaginations turning into reality.

Everything in life starts with the mindset first, and then our actions come into picture. Writing opens gates to the path of finding clarity. Once we attain clarity, it is easier to put them into action. Our job is to write and feel the emotions we will have once we reach that goal. Keep writing till it becomes a ritual to see it happening in our lives. It is the game of complete faith and trust, that the universe will deliver our order as per our efforts in that direction.

When Arjun started writing, he did it because he wanted more in life, and it helped him get a clear picture of the future he wanted for himself. His feelings started talking to him through pen and paper and made him work towards his goals. Now life comes easy to him and can be the same for us if we follow the right way of writing. As to how we feel, we bring that to life, and when we write them down, we manifest those feelings into reality.
